The Reviews

There were quite a few reviews for this sander and they all had good things to say about it. Users particularly liked its almost vibration free operation – an aspect of performance where even some of the best sanders fail – and it was also said to be very quiet. Another plus point with users was the quick and easy system for changing the abrasive paper. Still on the subject of the sanding paper this sander uses half sheet size paper which means it is easier to achieve a level surface than when using six inch discs. Also standard paper available from anywhere can be used.

An important consideration for sanders is their ability to either have an efficient dust collection system built-in or to be able to hook up to a dust vacuum. According to reviewers the built-in system on the Bosch works so well that there is no need to use any other dust extraction equipment, although it can be fitted with a hose adapter for this purpose. A couple of reviewers were disappointed that Bosch don’t include the hose adapter in the price of the sander.

Changing the paper sheets on this model was said to be quick and easy and the clips for holding the paper work fine. One issue that a user encountered was that an aluminium extrusion which holds the paper tension clips in place broke off, necessitating buying a replacement base plate.
